In this pivotal position, the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will lead projects, engage with clients, and ensure the delivery of precise and innovative design solutions. The role demands a confident, relationship-building individual with a forward-thinking approach to environmental and sustainability advice.
Key Skills and Experience Required:
- A minimum of 5 years in mechanical building services design, particularly in the commercial offices sector.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Hevacomp.
- A background in design consultancy.
- General mechanical building engineering services experience.
- HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Experience in mechanical detail design and performance design Stages 2-6 in commercial, mixed-use, retail, and industrial sectors.
Desirable Attributes:
- Revit MEP and Navisworks expertise.
- Building services surveying experience.
- CMT experience and knowledge of EDSL TAS.
- Utility liaison and searches experience.
- Valid CSCS card and UK full driving licence.
- IMechE or CIBSE membership or working towards it.
The role will encompass design preparation, project leadership, site visits, and the proficient use of design software. An excellent awareness of regulations, standards, and product knowledge is essential, along with the ability to produce detailed specifications and reports.
