Job Title:               BMS Commissioning Engineer

Based at:              Head Office in Kent – Projects cover most of the South up to around Manchester (not so much central London). The role is site based so it’s not essential the engineer lives local to the office although they would be expected to attend the office for training/team meetings etc. (Hertfordshire area would be a good central location for example)

Package: 

  • Salary - £35- 60K - based on experience

Overview

An exciting permanent opportunity has arisen to join a Kent based Energy Services company that have a new opening for a BMS Commissioning Engineer to join their dynamic team, and who have national contracts with some of the biggest retailers alongside non retail clients.

This company is an established and fast growing company within the energy sector and they provide both BMS Services and Energy Monitoring & Metering Services to reduce energy consumption

A key part of their development strategy is to supplement the BMS division with key people to allow them to enhance their service offering and assisting the business in future growth, therefore servicing larger contracts. 

They are breaking the mould, by moving away from the traditional BMS approach and establishing new and improved ways of working but still delivering on Client’s expectations. Therefore, they are looking for a  candidate who will share their vision of wanting to grow with the business and being part of their long-term career plan.  

This is predominantly will be site based BMS commissioning work. As they support projects nationwide, the role will require travel and the possibility of staying away if the project dictates. However, they do allocate works in a grouping to ensure the best approach as possible.  

 

Requirements

Job Role

  • Site commissioning of BMS through to successful client witnessing and handover.
  • Commissioning new BMS systems in accordance with design specifications.
  • Liaising with the design and engineering teams.
  • Site BMS/Energy audits/Dilapidation Reports
  • Site PPM/ Reactive maintenance visits
  • Preparation of detailed site survey reports & audits for client submission
  • Production and understanding of BMS software (Trend & Siemens PX & PRIVA) for new projects and modification of existing software.
  • A good underlying electrical and mechanical knowledge
  • The ability to understanding the different stages of a project from conception to completion and the roles and responsibility of the BMS within that project.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to use all Microsoft Office packages including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word as a minimum.
  • Technical Knowledge

     

  • Experience and knowledge of HVAC plant and equipment operation
  • Experience of BMS Control Panel design (new and existing panels)
  • A fully trained engineer in either/or/all of the following systems - Trend, Siemens PX and Priva - Training can be provided.
  • Experienced with Integration of 3rd Party Systems (MODBUS/MBus/BACNET)
  • Experience of open protocol systems and awareness of new developments & trends in the market.

  • Be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety requirements.
  • Up to date CSCS Card & SSSTS Card
