Job Description

Undergraduate Civil Engineer

 

Location – London /Hybrid (Based in London Bridge 2-3 days per week)

Salary: £30K

Working hours 35 hours (per week).

 

Magenta Recruitment are looking for an Undergraduate Civil Engineer to work for a leading multi-disciplinary construction and property consultancy. Role overview:

  • Report to and take direction from senior members in the Civil Engineering Group.
  • Support team members to manage projects from inception to completion to ensure that deliverables are issued to programme, to the required quality standard and within the budget set by the Partner.
  • Prepare reports, general correspondence, etc. as required in connection with the running of projects.
  • Undertake scheme and detailed design as appropriate on individual projects, including preparation of detailed design calculations, checking drawings and other deliverables.
  • When required by the line manager, assist other members of the Team to complete tasks, particularly in relation to meeting project deadlines.
  • Liaise with other members of the design and construction team, representing the Civil and Structural Engineering Group.
  • Support in preparing design programmes for production deliverables.

 

Qualifications Required:

  • Undergraduate Civil Engineering Degree

 

Knowledge:

  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in groundworks, drainage and highway design.
  • Understanding of industry guidelines i.e. Sewer Sector Guidance, Building Regulations, DMRB, NPPF etc.

     

    Skills:

  • Able to produce written reports.
  • Working experience/knowledge of analysis and design software (Causeway Flow/Windes MicroDrainage, Civil 3D, AutoCAD ets).
  • Self-starter, motivated.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision/ on own initiative but accept guidance and provide continual feedback to line manager.
  • Team worker.
  • Good communicator.
  • Personable and confident.
