Supply Chain Manager – Leading Food Production Business

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, day shifts
An industry-leading food production business in Slough is seeking a dedicated and experienced Supply Chain Manager to join their dynamic operations team. As a Supply Chain Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Warehouse team and Stock Control/Goods-in team, to ensure a seamless process throughout the company.

Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement & Supplier Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and monitor supplier performance to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Inventory Management: Oversee stock levels, implement effective inventory control processes, and review stock forecasts to support uninterrupted production.
- Warehousing: Manage the storage and handling of materials and goods, ensuring efficient space utilisation and compliance with safety standards.
- Team Leadership: Lead and supervise the supply chain team, providing direction, training, and support to foster a culture of accountability and efficiency.
- Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with production, quality assurance, and sales teams to align supply chain activities with business needs.
- Compliance & Reporting: Maintain accurate records, conduct audits, and prepare reports on supply chain performance.
- Health & Safety: Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations and identify potential risks.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce costs, and implement industry best practices.
Candidate Profile:
Essential:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably within the food manufacturing industry.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health and safety standards.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable:
- Warehouse experience (Food Industry)
- Forklift licence or willingness to obtain one.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience in high-care food environments.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily office-based with regular interaction with production areas, warehouse facilities, and suppliers.
- May require early starts, late finishes, or weekend work to meet operational demands.
