Senior Structural Engineer – Bristol

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and check structural engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Liaise with external professionals and clients, representing the consultancy at meetings and site surveys.
- Manage project timelines and performance.
- Supervise and mentor Graduate Engineers and Technicians.
- Prepare structural reports on buildings and other structures.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Educational Background: Degree-qualified Engineer, aspiring to or working towards Chartered Membership of the Institution of Structural Engineers or Institution of Civil Engineers.
- Professional Experience: 4-6 years of relevant experience within a UK consultancy, with a minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience.
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to design structural members in steel, concrete, masonry, and timber. Familiarity with design software such as Tekla Structural Designer, S-Frame, TEDDS, SCIA, and CADS.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce concise, accurate, and technically correct reports.
- Project Management: Experience in contract negotiation, fee management, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the design process.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage and lead, with enthusiasm, drive, and determination.
Competencies:
- Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage workload within agreed fiscal and time scales.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other administrative software.
