Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Norwich (Social Housing / Planned Works)
Salary: Up to £70,000 + Package

We’re working in partnership with a well-established, national property services contractor—part of a wider group with over a century of combined experience—to recruit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor.

Our client is delivering a long-term planned refurbishment programme on behalf of a local authority, focusing on occupied residential properties. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stable, framework-led environment with strong pipeline security and genuine long-term career prospects.

The Opportunity

This is a key commercial role within a high-performing team, where you’ll take ownership of cost control, financial performance, and commercial governance across a major housing contract.

You’ll be joining an organisation known for its structured delivery, collaborative culture, and strong reputation across the social housing, healthcare, defence, and education sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the commercial and financial performance of planned refurbishment works
  • Prepare and review valuations, cost reports, and forecasts
  • Oversee subcontractor accounts, including applications and final accounts
  • Control and value variations, ensuring robust commercial justification
  • Support budgeting, cashflow forecasting, and CVRs
  • Work closely with operational teams to align delivery and commercial outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms, schedules of rates, and client requirements
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
  • Support audits, reporting, and internal governance processes

About You

We’re looking for a commercially astute professional who enjoys working within a structured, framework-driven environment.

Essential experience:

  • Proven background as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor
  • Experience in social housing, refurbishment, or planned maintenance works
  • Strong understanding of cost control and commercial processes
  • Experience managing subcontractor accounts and valuations
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Good IT skills, including Excel and commercial systems

Desirable:

  • Construction-related qualification (HNC/HND/Degree)
  • Experience on local authority or housing frameworks

What’s on Offer

  • Salary up to £70,000
  • Car allowance
  • Bonus scheme (post 12 months)
  • Pension & life assurance
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Access to perks & wellbeing platform
  • Paid volunteering day
  • Clear career progression opportunities within a growing national group

Why Apply?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a secure, long-term contract with a reputable contractor that values:

  • Stability and consistency
  • High-quality delivery
  • Positive social impact within local communities

If you’re looking for a role where you can make a tangible impact while developing your career within a supportive, established business—this is well worth exploring.
