Our Client, a large London based MEP Engineering Contractor that specialise in Residential, Commercial projects, are currently recruiting for Mechanical Engineers for their Residential New Build projects in South East London.


The Role: 

To provide directions and coordination of a team of engineers and designers. The Senior Mechanical Engineer is also responsible for Mechanical Engineering designs and technical advice and guidance to all parties involved in the project.


  • Provide mechanical design, technical analysis and resolution of engineering problems 
  • Preparation and development of calculations, analysis, schematics, drawings, diagrams, models, specifications and other documents relating to each project’s designs
  • Production of details of specifications and outline of designs, creation of refinement of complex mechanical components
  • Understand resources requirements, risk and technical quality to ensure delivery of effective solutions to problems
  • Planning and execution of work packages
  • Attending internal and external review and progress meetings
  • Attend project’s sites and works testing
  • Ensure that all designs are rigorously checked and are done in a timely and accurate manner and to the client’s requirements
  • Provide specialist technical advice and guidance on mechanical issues
  • To ensure that all Health and Safety procedures are adhered to and all mechanical engineering work is conducted in a safe and appropriate manner
  • To ensure that all mechanical engineering practices on site are kept up to date and within UK safety legislation
  • Ensure consistency of approach across package

Skills and experience required:

  • Educated to Degree level
  • Experience of design and project management of multi-disciplinary projects and production of detailed specifications
  • In-depth knowledge of AutoDesk, Revit and CAD
  • Proven track record of experience covering a range of engineering and technical topics including design, analysis, specification, installation and commissioning
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage projects from conception through production, ensuring timescale, quality and cost targets are met
  • Ability to lead and develop others and manage cross-team works
  • To be able to provide services to agreed standards, timescales and budgets
  • Excellent creative and technical abilities
  • Effective communicator with the ability to deal with colleagues on a variety of levels
  • Liaise with clients and attend meetings on all aspects of the project
  • Sufficient background knowledge to be able to propose and debate alternative solutions to technical and operational requirements
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks at the same time
  • Self-motivated and with a high level of professionalism
