Security Project Engineer

Job Description

Role Purpose

In this full time permanent position, you will be part of the Digital Buildings team in the London office and reporting to the Smart Buildings Section Manager. The role will cover various sectors including, but not limited to Commercial, Mission Critical, Health and Education sectors.

As the Project Engineer – Security Consultant you will be responsible for:

  • Design and documentation of security services including access control, CCTV, PIDs, intrusion detection and video analytics.

  • Input of requirements for the communications systems such as ICN, voice, data, radio and cellular.

  • Working with clients and key users to establish client requirements for their communications and audio visual requirements.

  • Complete design and commissioning witnessing work for Company designs within telecommunication facilities, commercial, retail, hospital, pharmaceutical or industrial developments, refurbishment or tenancy fit-outs.

  • Delivering projects to the required quality, time and profit level

  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with clients and assess their current and future needs to match Company capabilities accordingly

  • Actively seek opportunities for appointments to gain new and profitable business

  • Identify new business opportunities in Security and Technology, prepare submissions, arrange presentations, and strive to secure new business.

  • Developing your understanding of Building Automation Systems, PLC / SCADA Systems and Intelligent Transportation Systems.

  • Liaise with Contractors and Sub-Contractors to address construction related issues

  • Ensure the Office Quality System is implemented and maintained

Qualifications & Certifications

  • A relevant tertiary qualification.

  • Preferred to have a Bachelor degree in Engineering discipline relevant to the role.


Skills & Experience:

  • At least 4 years’ experience at a level of working in a engineering consultancy business.

  • Co-ordination and integration of designed systems with other designers and team members, including architects and quantity surveyors.

  • Technical and non-technical consulting skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with staff at all levels including a proven ability to communicate with technical staff across multiple disciplines

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with clients

  • Excellent verbal communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • The ability to exercise substantial initiative and high level judgement and to work independently to meet objectives
