MEP Buyer

Job Description

Our client, a leading MEP Contractor based in Central London, are currently seeking a Buyer for their Procurement Department.

They would also consider applications from a Trainee Electrical Buyer.

 

Key Skill Requirements

The candidate should have the required skill set/experience to fulfil the position as detailed below:

  • The candidate should have a strong knowledge of the Mechanical & Electrical industry with a bias to the Electrical side.

  • The candidate should be computer literate in Microsoft word, Excel, Outlook. Any experience in the use of Microsoft Amtech ordering system would be of benefit.

  • The candidate should have strong communication skills and be able to work as part of a project team.

  • The candidate should have an understanding of budget control and show strong negotiation skills.

  • The candidate should have an understanding of M&E sub contractor packages.

  • The candidate should have an understanding of the new build residential & refurbishment side of the MEP industry.

  • The candidate should have a strong understanding/experience of the production and progressive upkeep of the following procurement documents; Procurement Schedule, Sample Schedule, Delivery Schedule, Cost Tracker Schedule.

 

Duties

  • The candidate will be responsible for all day to day procurement activities on the project, this will include the ordering of all M&E materials, hiring of plant requirements, project logistics, delivery booking in systems, etc.

  • The candidate will work as part of the project team and will assist the project manager where required.

  • The candidate will be responsible for the upkeep/progress of all procurement schedule’s as detailed above and thus issue these to the project Manager in a weekly/fortnightly format.

  • The candidate will be responsible for the completion of mini comparisons under the frame work of the project bulk orders.

  • The candidate will report directly back to the procurement manager and provide weekly/monthly reports.

  • The candidate will assist in the formation of the technical submittal documents in line with the project requirements.

 

Working Hours

  • The candidate will be required to work 8.00am -5.00pm Monday to Friday
