As an Electrical Design Engineer or Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will join a thriving department in Nottingham, working on a diverse range of projects. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage electrical design projects across sectors such as residential, education, justice, and laboratories.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineering teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Prepare and manage fee proposals, maintain client relationships, and represent the team in meetings.
- Coordinate with the wider team, manage workloads, and ensure efficient meeting of deadlines.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to less experienced engineers and graduates.
- Design electrical services from Stage 2 to Stage 6, including detailed designs, specifications, and calculations.
- Engage with clients, attend site visits, and provide technical advice as required.
- Work on a variety of projects, from small to medium-sized schemes to larger-scale residential and commercial projects.
Candidate Profile:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- A degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
- 3-4 years of experience in electrical design engineering (5-6 years for a senior position).
- Proven experience in delivering electrical designs across multiple project stages.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in design software such as REVIT (familiarity with MagiCAD is advantageous).
- An understanding of project management, including coordinating with internal teams and clients.
- Leadership skills to mentor junior engineers and guide project delivery.
- Ideally, working towards Chartered Engineer status or an interest in achieving this.
- Strong organisational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
