Job Description

Step into a role that transcends the ordinary, where your skills in maintenance and dedication to enhancing the lives of others converge. A distinguished specialist further education college in Bromley is seeking a diligent Maintenance Officer to join their team, offering a chance to contribute to a supportive environment that empowers disabled young adult students to thrive.

Imagine a workweek that respects your personal time, with hours from Monday to Thursday, 8 am to 4:30 pm, and an early finish on Friday at 3:30 pm. This schedule allows for a balanced lifestyle, ensuring you have ample time to recharge and pursue personal interests.

As a Maintenance Officer, you will be an integral part of the Estate and Domestic team, ensuring the college's campus, buildings, and equipment are impeccably maintained. Your role is pivotal in creating a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students with a variety of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Your expertise in general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, carpentry, decorating, and minor building works, will be highly valued. You will be proactive in addressing health and safety concerns, maintaining site security, and ensuring all maintenance activities adhere to relevant regulations.

This position requires a hands-on approach, with responsibilities ranging from completing maintenance checklists to assisting with contractor coordination and emergency callouts. Your contribution will directly impact the college's ability to deliver exceptional 'Learning Through Living' experiences to its students.

To excel in this role, you should possess a robust set of maintenance skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to continuous personal development. Experience in a similar role is advantageous, as is familiarity with health and safety regulations.

In return for your dedication, you will be part of a charity with a rich 180-year history of community and inclusion work. You will join a team of over 2,000 staff and volunteers, all united in their mission to promote inclusion and wellbeing for all.

If you are ready to make a meaningful impact and support the extraordinary journey of this College's students, this role awaits your expertise and passion.
