This FMCG company are looking for an Assistant Depot Manager to lead a team of drivers in ensuring deliveries, and staff deployments are operating effectively, safely and in a customer focused and cost-efficient way.


You will be expected to:

Monitor achievement of own team’s KPIs and work with the Depot Manager to ensure overall achievement of KPIs and up to date.

Regularly liaise with Account Management, Business Development, Warehouse Operations and Head Office teams to ensure customer needs are met and problems are resolved, and vehicles depart on time.

Lead, manage and motivate a team of ‘field based’ drivers including attendance, performance, and conduct management.


Experience and Qualifications

  • Clean driving licence
  • Forklift truck and 7.5 tonne elements.
  • Possession of a Transport Management CPC qualification essential.
  • Experience of the Chilled Food Industry
  • Experience working in a FMCG environment

Working Hours:

48 hours per week, any 5 days over 6.  Involves early and late shift work

Includes working every other Saturday, with 1 day off in the week .

A flexible approach to hours will be required as there may be occasion when it is necessary to work additional hours as dictated by the workload and engagement activities.  This may include occasional evening, night and weekend working.
